Offset from concert pitch (A 440). Spread: the middle half of the songs, when four or more share the album's pitch. Confidence: how well the notes agree with one grid.

Before we measured, sources said: E Standard, with no pitch given (community).

Built from loops and samples of the band's playing, with guitar on a few songs in unusual tunings. The LP's readings scatter more than on any other Radiohead album: about 7 ¢ flat overall (A ≈ 438.2), Little by Little 17 ¢ flat, Codex 4 ¢ sharp and Give Up the Ghost 20 ¢ sharp. Bloom, Morning Mr Magpie and Separator gave readings too weak to use. The LP runs about 0.33 % shorter than the CD, so on CD expect every value about 6 ¢ lower.

Questions

What tuning is The King of Limbs in?

Radiohead recorded The King of Limbs (2011) in E Standard, about 7 cents flat (A ≈ 438), measured by TuneLit on the LP. 5 songs use other tunings or pitches, listed song by song on this page.

Why does The King of Limbs sound out of tune with my guitar?

Little by Little sits about 17 cents flat (A ≈ 436), so a guitar tuned to A 440 clashes with it. The Tune buttons on this page set the tuner's reference to match the record, song by song, so you only tune the strings.
