Before we measured, sources said: E Standard, with no pitch given (community).
The reunion album, produced by Ted Templeman, with Joe Perry and Brad Whitford back. Most songs are tabbed in E Standard, and TuneLit measured the CD right at concert pitch. The opener, a re-recording of the title song of Perry's 1980 solo album, is in his open tuning. Darkness closes the CD and cassette; the original US LP ends with The Hop.

Notes
How to get there from the album's E Standard: String 6 down 9 half steps (E → G), String 5 down a whole step (A → G), String 1 down a whole step (E → D); the other strings stay.
String 6 sits 9 half steps below its standard E2. On a normal set (.046) it keeps only about 35 % of its usual tension and flaps. For the usual feel use about a .078 string, or a baritone guitar.
Open G with an extra-low 6th string tuned to G, an octave below the 5th. If you do not want to fit a bass string, ordinary open G (D G D G B D) gets you close.
Joe Perry told Guitar Player that he wrote and played this riff in the open "Robert Johnson" G or A tuning, with a bass string added an octave below the 5th string. The song is in G, so this is open G with that low G string. The popular Songsterr tab plays it in standard tuning instead.

Notes
A slide intro; no reliable tab names its tuning. The song centres on D, so a tuning with a low D may be the key to the slide part, but that is a guess.
